9TH ANNUAL L.A. COUNTY YARN CRAWL – MARCH 26-29, 2020

March 26 9:00 am - March 29 6:00 pm

Free
Los Angelenos LOVE L.A. as much as tourists – but to officially KNOW L.A., one has got to do “the crawl” across the freeway artery system to understand all of the unique communities buried inside of L.A. County.
ENTER: The 9th Annual L.A. County Yarn Crawl taking place March 26-29, 2020
This unique event promoting the fiber arts culture features 6 Los Angeles communities; 25 shop owners; 18 L.A. women-owned businesses….SPRAWLED ACROSS ALL OF L.A. County FOR ONE EVENT in FOUR DAYS!  The Yarn Crawl is 143 MILES – all to promote Fiber Arts!
HAPPENING IN DTLA —- Start the crawl with a tourist-driven crawl spot — Gather DTLA inside of The Last Book Store,www.togatherdtla.com  and a short crawl up the Little Knittery – Home of the Women’s March Pussyhat. www.thelittleknittery.com
The Los Angeles County regional areas also include Long Beach/Bellflower, Redondo/Inglewood, Santa Monica/Brentwood, and five businesses in the San Fernando Valley, and five businesses in the San Gabriel Valley.
One of the awesome cool things about this event is that no matter where one is traveling from, you can begin the ‘crawl’ from any of the community areas. It’s also great for people who are traveling alone and want to ‘feel part of something’ — as each individual yarn shop will have all kinds of prizes and activities. It’s also a great even if you are traveling with a parent, grandparent or even a teen or child – everyone has a yarn story and it helps to connect families as well as help those ‘carry on’ something to the next generation or rekindle a family bond/memory as well… or even just get a jump start on learning a new craft to create a Mother’s Day gift! 😀
If anyone traveling dares to take on the entire crawl – it is the best way to officially see Los Angeles County across all of these interesting places – from the beachside communities to the indie-artsy hipster spots as well as old historic towns and college towns, too!
9th ANNUAL L.A. COUNTY YARN CRAWL KNITS CREATIVES TOGETHER FOR A FOUR-DAY EVENT MARCH 26-29, 2020
(Los Angeles, CA) – The Los Angeles melting pot is made up of many creatives spanning across film, stage, screen, fine arts and the culinary scene. There’s a distinctive arts group who crave “much more fiber,” and they’re ready to leave you in beautiful stitches. “Got Yarn?” In its 9th year, the L.A. County Yarn Crawl will knit together eighteen Los Angeles County local women-owned businesses for ONE four-day fiber-filled yarn event ready to throw you for a loop of knitting, crocheting and spinning creative minds and hearts into a colorful tapestry March 26-29, 2020 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
In a world with a competitive business economy, what makes this event unique is that the shops are each unique onto themselves. With a varying range of business experience from 50 years to just under one year – these entrepreneurs respect each other as they cater to their own fiber arts communities with their brick and mortar businesses. They keep fighting the good fight against the digital sales world in order to provide the tangible “feeling” of yarn, and meeting customers face-to-face, all while “knitting together” an all-inclusive community.
The L.A. County Yarn Crawl will host a special passport prize promotion where all eighteen shops will feature a $300 gift basket prize. Crafters and yarn enthusiasts can enter to win the opportunity drawing after leaving behind a completed passport indicating the Yarn Crawl sprawl of shops have been visited. Can’t make the entire crawl? No worries… there are other prize opportunities with gift certificates: https://layarncrawl.org/pages/about-the-la-yarn-crawl
Of the eighteen women-owned yarn shops, there are twenty-five owners featuring ten California Natives from Los Angeles, Pico Rivera, Torrance, Burbank, SFV, Long Beach, San Marino, Rancho Cucamonga, La Verne and San Dimas; and the remaining U.S. and global transplants to L.A. County from Turkey, France, New York, Rhode Island, Austria, Connecticut, Minnesota, Ohio, Arizona, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia with two U.S. globetrotters, one from an Air Force family. Together they have a whopping grand total of 316 combined years of business ownership experience. The participating yarn shops sprawled across L.A. include the following areas:
Downtown Los Angeles: Gather DTLA and The Little Knittery (Los Feliz).
