The Assassination of Edgar Allan Poe: An Immersive Theater Experience

The Downtown Repertory Theater Company celebrates its tenth season downtown with an immersive theater experience exploring the strange life and mysterious death of Edgar Allan Poe. Staged in multiple areas throughout the 150-year-old (reputedly haunted) Pico House, the first grand hotel in Los Angeles.

August 11

Outdoor Quiet Clubbing Party

Join hundreds of party-goers as they dance and sing the night away in the center of this epic multi-level dancer’s paradise all housed in Downtown LA’s premier shopping and event space.

Three live DJ’s will be in the atria spinning all of your favorites, and you’ll have the ability to flip between the DJ’s tunes as you please. The music in store will include: Top 40 dance hits; 80’s, 90’s and 2k throwbacks; along with Hip-Hop and R&B.

When you arrive you’ll receive a pair of special wireless headphones. You can adjust the volume and choose between up to three DJ’s with a flip of a switch. Each headset has a color LED that shows what channel you are listening to. It’s super social; you’re in control of the music!

Eat|See|Hear Outdoor Movie: Inglourious Basterds

n German-occupied France, young Jewish refugee Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the slaughter of her family by Colonel Hans Landa. Narrowly escaping with her life, she plots her revenge several years later when German war hero Fredrick Zoller takes a rapid interest in her and arranges an illustrious movie premiere at the theater she now runs. With the promise of every major Nazi officer in attendance, the event catches the attention of the “Basterds”, a group of Jewish-American guerrilla soldiers led by the ruthless Lt. Aldo Raine. As the relentless executioners advance and the conspiring young girl’s plans are set in motion, their paths will cross for a fateful evening that will shake the very annals of history.

Arrive early to take advantage of Free Admission to The Autry Musem for all Eat|See|Hear ticket holders beginning at 5:30pm.

Doors open at 5:30pm, the music starts at 7:00pm, and the movie at 8:30pm

Banksy Exhibit and Performance by TOLEDO

In line with The Mayfair Hotel’s mission to deliver top tier artistic talent for guests and visitors, the hotel has kicked off its July re-opening with the anonymous British street artist Banksy’s effusive Haight Street Rat installation. Coupled with the installation, which was previously on display in Canada, the Mayfair will also feature complimentary movie screenings of the documentary “Saving Banksy.”

For over three decades, the Regime 72 collective, an LA-based talent management agency known for its diverse involvement in music, art, film and fashion on a global scale has worked with some of the most respected individuals from a wide array of artistic mediums. Regime 72 has just launched a four-night cabaret show residency with Los Angeles native and entertainment ingénue TOLEDO.

The Mayfair Hotel is located at 1256 W 7th St. The event is free and located in the hotel’s Library Bar.

Latin Grammy® nominated Afro-Peruvian future roots pioneers Novalima join La Junta as part of their 2018 world tour! In support of their fifth full-length album, Ch’usay, their second on NYC’s legendary Wonderwheel Recordings, the band joins La Junta in its only Los Angeles appearance before the album’s September release.
