Also reported by Curbed, WeWork recently opened it’s 20 LA location in the Arts District (1019 East Fourth Place). The five story 60K Sqft. building dates to 1924.

Citing mainly the high cost of housing, The Real Deal reports more than half of registered California voters have considered leaving the state. Young voters are more inclined to consider leaving and actually more likely to do it. LA County is short half a million units and developers say excessive fees discourage building. Read more…..

PERLA PROPOSES ROOFTOP SIGN

As reported by UrbanizeLA, the Perla on 4th has proposed a 75′ x 35′ sign that would rise more than 446 feet above see level. The Central Area Planning Commission is scheduled to review the proposal September 10.

BYE BYE CAR WASH

As reported by UrbanizeLA, new renderings have been provided for the 57-Story building that will replace the car wash at Olympic & Figueroa. Plans include  374 condos, 373 hotel rooms, offices, and shops on the lower floors. Construction could begin as soon as 2020.

PERSHING SQUARE TOWER APPROVED

LA City planning has approved a 53-story hotel & condo tower near Pershing Square. It would feature a 190 room hotel, 29K sqft. of retail space and capped by 31 condos. Project completion is targeted for 2023.
