L.A. Art Show 2020 – 25th Anniversary

$25 – $45 || Jan 6 – 9 || LA Convention Center

Come celebrate 25 years of explosive growth for the LA Art Show, and the new era of the LA art community! 

The eclectic exhibition has outgrown three venues in its 25-year history, before finally finding a home in the LA Convention Center. Booths from more than 100 galleries from 18 countries sprawl out over the Center’s 260,000-square-foot exhibition space, filling it with modern and contemporary art in a huge variety of mediums. The best part of all, most of the art is available for purchase.

Aventuras Reggaeton Party

Free|| Jan 9 || Broadway Bar

Come dance the night away at DTLA’s only reggaeton party! The function kicks off at 9 pm, with drink specials going until 11 pm. Amazing DJ’s will be spinning the best that reggaeton has to offer all night long. Dress to impress at this party, the crowd comes out looking like its a summer night in the middle of winter. As always, there is no cover charge.

Celebrate Free Admission to MOCA

Free || Jan 11 || MOCA & Geffen MOCA

Join the entire MOCA family on January 11 from 12-4pm to celebrate the start of Free General Admission. Live music, special performances, workshops, and food trucks — this is a free, public event for the whole family! There will be activities at both MOCA Grand and the Geffen, with a free shuttle transporting visitors between the two galleries. More information will be announced throughout the week but save the date.

90’s Beer Festival

$39 || Jan 11 || Civic Center Studios

Put on your best flannel and grunge shirt and make your way to the 90’s Beer Festival in Downtown Los Angeles on January 11th. Enjoy unlimited samples of beers, ciders, and specialty cocktails like the Capri Sun cocktail cooler and the Red Gusher martini. Enjoy live music from the nineties boys who will be taking you on a musical journey of hits over the entire decade. Make to stop by the lunchable café to crave the hunger. Women’s March Los Angeles 2020

Join people from all over the city as they hold politicians accountable at the next Women’s March Los Angeles on January 18, 2020. Women Rising is our call to action. The Women’s March Los Angeles Foundation, a women-led non-profit, brings together people of all ages, genders, races, cultures, political affiliations for a day of civic engagement at Pershing Square – Downtown Los Angeles.

Clifton’s Curiosities and Cocktail Crawl

$50 || Jan 18 || Clifton’s Cafeteria

Discover the fantastic world of Clifton’s, a whimsical cabinet of curiosities that has inspired Angelenos for over 80 years. Built during the Great Depression, the cafeteria is the sole survivor of a once larger chain owned by Clifford Clinton, who had aspirations of curing world hunger. We will venture the many levels, nooks, and hidden corners while delighting in the history, legends, and specialty libations that thematically shift throughout the space. We will visit with special guests and be invited into areas of Clifton’s not open to the public. Curiosities will greet you at every turn.

The FitExpo Los Angeles 2020

$30 – $45 || Jan 25 || LA Convention Center

TheFitExpo is returning to the LA Convention Center on January 25th and 26th for its 17th anniversary. The convention provides a vast array of programming elements such as fitness competitions, fashion shows, and countless celebrity athlete appearances all under one roof. Don’t miss out on your chance to get an autograph and take a quick photo with your favorite athlete!

Skid Row Carnival of Love

Free || Jan 25 || Skid Row

The annual Skid Row Carnival of Love (SRCOL) is the largest event of its kind serving 4,000 people experiencing homelessness in and around downtown Los Angeles.

Powered entirely by volunteers, the Carnival provides vital resources like health checks, haircuts and ID cards alongside music, entertainment and balloons in a 20,000 square-foot block party.

There are lots of ways to volunteer as well. From set up, event shifts to clean up.
