California Market Center Renovation Kicks Off

$170M renovation of Fashion District’s California Market Center In Progress
The Fashion District’s California Market Center (CMC)

Curbed LA reports that a $170M renovation of the California Market Center (CMC) kicked off in November. The renovation project is aimed squarely at attracting non-fashion industry tenants; the types of tenants which have been flocking to Culver City, Hollywood, and Playa Vista.

The CMC takes up the entire block bounded by Ninth, Main, Olympic & Los Angeles and opened in 1963; targeting fashion wholesalers.

The largest change will be the removal of the bank building on the corner of ninth and main.

The entrance off Ninth and Main will have a lot more space once that bank building is taken out.
