Inspired by history and heritage, Los Angeles based concept brand Saint Rita Parlor discloses a story of family lineage and creates an intimacy between designer and consumer that creates a unique experience for the viewer to be apart of. After making waves last year with its freshmen collection and reaching global recognition in niche luxury. Saint Rita Parlor, is more than just a fashion brand. It is a feeling. An intangible moment. The concept brand itself possesses a nostalgic spirit that makes each handcrafted piece feel like a cherished heirloom. This weekend everyone was invited to acquire a piece of this heritage with the grand opening of their flagship concept store in East Industrial DTLA when they debuted sophomore collection, “Florissant.”

Florissant is named after designer and founder, Neil Bardon’s hometown located in Missouri. The sophomore collection advances Saint Rita Parlor’s 1940’s inspired debut, and adopts more of the modern aspects of the 1950’s. This decade embodied the ideals of the American dream, which can be seen in great detail in the new selection of eye-wear.

This devotion creates an intimacy between designer and consumer, granting a unique experience in the current climate of fast fashion.

Dedicated and inspired by Bardon’s late Grandmother, Rita, who was saint in his life. In fact, each pair of glasses is named after the surnames of both sides of the designer’s grandparents before marriage. The collection deeply reflects and draws inspiration from specific memories of Bardon’s family, such as both of his grandfathers’ interest in mechanical engineering, or the medical field that Rita worked in, and the roses she adored.

Saint Rita Parlor is more than just a fashion brand attempting to follow the latest trends, it is a feeling – a moment. It’s sharing a thunderstorm with your father on the front porch. It’s trading coins with your grandmother. These timeless and intangible moments propel the brand forward each and every day. Because we are all Saints. We all live through Saint Rita Parlor.
