DTLA Arts District is an up and coming area in Los Angeles that is hidden in what seems to be an understated part of the downtown area. There are abandoned buildings and warehouses, dirty streets, graffiti, and homelessness. Because a huge part of our society doesn’t embrace truth very well, many people do not see the art that is beneath all of this and the amount of character that this area has. Resident Downtown LA Live Music.
These urban streets are what lead to discovering the light to our society.
Some see art, while others see graffiti. Some see gold, while others see trash. Some see homeless people, while others see the underlying challenge of status, money, racism, and religion that is present in our society.
The Resident is located in the heart of the Arts District and is a great asset to this area because it provides a place for the arts, a sense of freedom, and an atmosphere of relaxation.
When I came by the Resident, I noticed the lighted outdoor patio, the food truck, and a trailer coach bar. I felt so welcomed by the casual vibes, community of people, diverse range of craft cocktails, and great but simple food that were offered. Because of this “at home” environment, the Resident definitely lives up to its name.
What makes this venue stand out among the rest is the live music. Every week there are live bands playing, and this is what brings people together at the Resident. Because everyone listens. Music is what stops the pain. Music is what lets the heart dance. Music is the escape.
