Iron Triangle Brewery opened its doors earlier this year determined to make a name for itself in the Los Angeles craft beer industry. They quickly were the talk of the town. This Saturday, August 20th, Iron Triangle is on another mission. In union with the Fire Hogs Motorcycle Club, their goal is to raise as much money possible for the Non-Profit Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund by selling as many pints of their newest creation, Land of Fire Red IPA.
It was by serendipitous chance that Nathan Cole, Owner of Iron Triangle Brewery met the Fire Hogs. Founded in 1991, the Fire Hogs are a Motorcycle Club that is comprised of all Los Angeles City Firemen. Their goal is to promote brotherhood amongst fellow firefighters, develop a relationship with the community that they serve and to provide assistance for all fallen brothers and loved ones left behind. The Fire Hogs promote an organization based on trust, respect, fellowship, freedom and unity. They claim no territory and ride in respect of all other clubs. They are a non-profit organization, whose goal is to host and participate in multiple events each year to raise funds to benefit those in need, particularly their primary charity, The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund.
As Nathan Cole and The Fire Hogs began to get to know one another, they realized that they had something in common. A cornerstone of both organizations was to actively engage with the communities that they serve and to help those in need. They decided to join forces and Cole came up with the idea to make a special batch of beer with the Fire Hogs and donate a portion of its sales to their primary charity.
The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund was founded more than a century ago and is a non-profit charity dedicated to helping the families of LAFD, firefighters facing a serious crisis such as being injured or killed in the line of duty. Contributions to the charity make a significant impact and provide much needed care for firefighter families such as: basic living expenses, durable medical equipment, paying for health insurance premiums for firefighter families that cannot afford it and other needed financial assistance.
Nathan Cole tells us: “Our goal at Iron Triangle (Brewery) is not only to make and serve quality craft beer to the Los Angeles community but also to truly be a part of the community. We feel that it is important to express gratitude to the men and women firefighters who put their lives in danger to protect us and honor them through action by supporting charities that support them.”
The event will commence at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20th and will carry on through the evening until 10:00 p.m. at Iron Triangle Brewery in the DTLA Arts District. There will be live entertainment and food will be provided by DTLA’s Engine Co. No. 28. $1.00 from every pint of Land of Fire Red IPA purchased will go directly to The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund. The donations will continue past Saturday. Essentially, Iron Triangle Brewery will continue their donations until every drop of the special batch is sold. The event is open to the public and there are no tickets or wristbands of any kind. Guests are simply encouraged to order Land of Fire Red IPA. Head to Iron Triangle Brewery this Saturday and plan to eat, drink lots and lots of beer and be merry all in the name of charity.
