Boomtown Brewery Grand Opening

A n0cturnal guide: DTLA features Boomtown Brewery's New Tap Room

Saturday afternoon was one of delicious brews, cozy corners and collect jams.  Boomtown Brewery definitely expanded more of its own in the Arts District this weekend with a gorgeous new tap room and a few new beers to start! I arrived two hours before the sunset to fully enjoy the breeze-way patio and a beer at the golden hour-one of my favorite things to do. I started by sampling a light Mexican lager, their newest Bad Hombre, so I could get a chance to shoot some stable photos. YOUKNEWJACK filled the room with a funky playlist to match the rest of the scene. No walls are the same, they surround cafeteria style tables to sit at and a few table games. A beautiful golden owl mural drapes the entire back wall, one sits the bar, on another is a projection of a black & white french film, dart boards, and another aligns seats up to a cozy nook where you can enjoy a more intimate conversation. If you find yourself venturing to a brewery, it usually means that you’re there for the craft beer and the ambiance, at Boomtown this weekend it was just that. Lots of people to mingle with-from DTLA locals who wouldn’t miss a tap room opening in their sleep, to those coming for the atmosphere and relaxation only. The location alone is appealing but it is also an ideal place to enjoy some crafted beer with friends and get your dance on to some amazingly curated music. It was the place to be on a Saturday evening and can only guess it will continue to be with all the great entertainment at your hands. There are lots of bars and breweries opening up in the Downtown LA area, it can be a bit difficult narrowing it down to just one, especially in the Arts District. This brewery not only features a new tap room but also a vast event room space for hosting live music shows, gallery showings, benefits, block parties, etc.  Boomtown celebrates the arts industry in LA being one of the most influential in the world. The “Boom” that made this city the creative mecca it is today. Not only does the space itself exude that, but the grand opening this weekend showed that they are simply, a contributing creative local establishment.
Boomtown BreweryStrip lights sparkle above  everything and a variety of games are spread throughout both rooms; darts, pool, foosball, and mega  chess! There were also terrific munchies to choose from and even a Floyd’s Barbershop truck for a quick trim for if you meet your next ex boo inside. Both rooms in the space hosted a lot more people than expected for the event-there was even a line for the bathroom at one point! But beer’s were flowing, the staff was working exceptionally hard and it was certainly booming at Boomtown’s Grand Opening.

Even with their terrific turnout, there is still enough room to breathe, bust a move or converse. There’s something for everyone in your squad to stay entertained. When you stop by Boomtown make sure to try the new Dry Boom or the fruity Working Title (smells like passion fruit) and if you really love craft beer, you can always join their Golden Glass Membership and enjoy 10 free pints a month.
